Terms and Conditions
Read below for our easy to understand T&Cs. The full Legal version is hyperlinked below.
1. Understanding the Risks
We understand that participation in acting workshops, classes, and events can involve some risks – such as minor injuries, emotional moments, or even accidental damage to personal items. By enrolling, you (or your child) agree to take part knowing these risks exist, and you accept them willingly.

2. Releasing the Academy from Responsibility
As far as the law allows, you agree not to hold the Australian Acting Academy, its staff, volunteers, or contractors responsible for injuries or property loss that may happen while taking part – even if it's caused by something we didn’t expect or plan for.

3. Your Responsibility (Indemnity)
You agree that if your child does anything during our programs that causes injury or damage, you may be responsible for covering any costs that come from it.

4. Medical Care
If your child is hurt or unwell, we will always try to contact you first. If we can’t reach you and there’s an urgent situation, we may need to seek medical help for your child. You agree to cover any medical or emergency costs. Our team are trained in basic first aid only.

5. Sharing Medical Information
To keep your child safe, we ask that you share any important medical details (allergies, conditions, injuries, etc.) with us during enrolment. This helps us support your child properly. Please let us know if anything changes over time.

6. About Our Team's First Aid
Our coaches have basic first aid training only. They can offer simple support, like bandaging or ice packs. For anything more serious, we’ll contact you and seek professional help.

7. Looking After Personal Belongings
We can’t be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items brought to classes or events. Please label belongings clearly and encourage your child to keep valuables in their bag.

8. Agreement & Consent
By enrolling, you confirm that you’ve read and understood this document. If your child is under 18, a parent or guardian must also confirm their agreement.

9. Legal Stuff
This agreement is covered by Queensland law. Any disagreements will be handled according to Queensland legal processes.
MEDIA RELEASE
I give permission for the Australian Acting Academy to take photos or videos of my child during classes or events. These may be used in promotional material, like on the Academy’s website or social media.
If you prefer your child not be included in marketing material, just let us know in writing – we will respect your wishes.

Please note: Part of your child’s learning may involve being filmed (e.g. for acting exercises). These classroom recordings are for educational use only.
CYBER SAFETY POLICY
Here’s how we keep our students safe when it comes to phones, computers, and online programs.
What We Ask of Students:
-
Phones and devices should not be used during class unless the teacher says it's okay.
-
No filming, texting, or online chatting during lessons unless it’s part of the activity.
-
Never take photos or videos of others without their permission.
-
Don’t share photos/videos of classmates online unless everyone involved has said yes.
-
Devices must not be used in change rooms or toilets.
-
If a device is brought to class, it should be kept in a bag on silent.
Respect & Responsibility
-
Students must not use their phone or computer to bully or embarrass others. This includes outside class (e.g. in group chats).
-
Cyberbullying can be reported to police and may result in being asked to leave the program.
Parents, Please Note:
-
You’re welcome to give your child a phone for safety reasons. We support that.
-
We ask that you talk with your child about using devices responsibly, especially during classes.
-
We recommend setting a password on your child’s device and writing down who they’ve shared it with.
Lost or Stolen Phones:
-
Label your child’s phone and add a contact number to help us return it if found.
-
If a phone is lost or stolen, contact your phone provider to block the SIM.
