Terms and Conditions

Read below for our easy to understand T&Cs. The full Legal version can be found here.

In addition to our terms and conditions, we are committed to ensuring child safety. To view our Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct, click here.

At the Australian Acting Academy, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive and inspiring environment for everyone who participates in our programs.

1. Participation and Risk

Acting classes, workshops and performances are active and creative environments. While we take care to provide a safe setting, participation can involve minor risks such as small physical injuries, emotional moments or accidental damage to personal items.

By enrolling or attending, you understand these risks and choose to participate.

2. Responsibility

We do everything we reasonably can to provide a safe learning environment. However, the Academy cannot be responsible for injuries, loss or damage that may occur during participation, except where the law says we must be.

Participants are expected to act respectfully and safely at all times.

3. Medical Care

Our team members are trained in basic first aid. If someone becomes unwell or injured, we may provide first aid and seek professional medical assistance if needed.

By enrolling, you authorise us to seek medical treatment where necessary and agree to cover any related medical costs.

4. Medical Information

To support safe participation, please provide accurate medical information during enrolment, including allergies or relevant health conditions. Let us know if anything changes.

5. Privacy

We collect personal information such as contact details and relevant medical information to deliver our programs safely and effectively.

Your information is stored securely and will not be shared without consent unless required by law.

Please note that attendance at classes is not confidential and may naturally be visible to other participants and families.

6. Personal Belongings

We encourage participants to label personal items and avoid bringing valuables. The Academy cannot be responsible for lost or damaged belongings.

7. Behaviour and Safety

We are committed to a positive and respectful environment. If behaviour compromises safety, wellbeing or the learning experience, we may refuse participation or ask a participant to leave a program.

8. Enrolment and Fees

When you enrol in a program, you are committing to the full course, workshop series or term as advertised at the time of enrolment.

Unless stated otherwise, our programs are not casual or pay-as-you-go classes.

If a payment plan is offered, it is provided as a convenience to spread the cost of the program. Payment plans do not operate as monthly subscriptions, and the full program fee remains payable regardless of attendance.

9. Withdrawals and Refunds

If a participant withdraws from a program after it has started, fees are generally non-refundable except where required under Australian Consumer Law.

Refunds are not provided for:

• missed classes
• change of mind
• scheduling conflicts
• personal circumstances

In exceptional situations involving serious illness or extenuating circumstances, the Academy may offer a credit toward a future program at its discretion.

10. Missed Classes

Fees are based on enrolment in the full program rather than attendance at individual sessions.

For this reason, we do not guarantee make-up classes or fee adjustments for missed sessions.

11. Program Changes

Occasionally we may need to make adjustments to programs. This may include combining classes, changing instructors, rescheduling sessions or adjusting delivery formats.

If a program is cancelled by the Academy before it begins, a refund or credit will be offered.

12. Media

We may photograph or film classes and events for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to appear in promotional material, please let us know in writing.

13. Agreement

By enrolling or attending, you confirm that you have read and understood these summary Terms.

If the participant is under 18, the person completing enrolment confirms they are the parent or legal guardian and agree to the full Terms on the participant’s behalf.

14. Legal

Our full Terms and Conditions are governed by Queensland law.
