At the Australian Acting Academy, world class acting classes is just the tip of the iceberg! At the AAA, they will be seen, listened to, and cared for. They will be made to feel safe enough to grow. They will be encouraged to push past what they already can do, and to make mistakes so that they can learn new skills.
While there are set acting skills that we will be developing each term, every class is treated as a unique tribe with a unique set of learning edges.
The Safety Net
The core of all of our classes is our Safety Net Philosophy. Your child will be joining their classmates in an agreement to totally support each other, to create safe places to take creative risks.

At the Australian Acting Academy, we believe that while repetition in training is important to develop skills, we still like to take a fresh approach to our training each term. So our artistic leadership team work closely with our coaches and community to ensure that what we are writing into our curriculum is current, engaging and relevant to our students. ACTING IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG
It is no secret that the Australian Acting Academy is Brisbane’s best acting school for kids and teens (and now in the Gold Coast too).
It isn’t so much what we do that makes this so, it is how we do it.
Your child will be treated with kindness and respect and welcomed into our community from the word go. Teens in particular often need support to be guided on how to be part of a team/ensemble, and that is what they will get here. This sense of belonging will increase their focus and general contentment in life. Every child is treated as an equal, and all ideas are heard.
Over 90% of our outcomes are student-created. The bliss of being a creative child and having somewhere to use this creativity builds a healthy sense of self-belief.
Our classes are carefully designed to challenge even the most experienced students, yet meet the needs for beginners too. Your child will work at their level and will be encouraged to grow and take creative risks.
Once your child has trained with us in our foundation classes for kids and teens, if they show a strong aptitude for the creative arts, plus a keenness to learn, and are 11 years or older, they have the chance to be nominated to audition for our extension program.
Our extension acting program offers the next level in developing your child's skills and talents and are designed to keep extending students until they are ready to be part of the industry or are auditioning to enter further studies.
We value and champion creative kids and the creative arts (even more important now as we are seeing a decline in the valuation of creativity in our school system), so we exist to ensure all creative kids feel that their gifts have a valuable role to play in our society. Acting is just the tip of a very big iceberg for your child's development.
