The Australian Acting Academy does not just provide Brisbane Drama Classes for kids. Rather we teach acting. So what’s the difference. Kids drama classes at school now have very little practical content. They focus largely on learning the history and application of different drama genres whereas we teach stage and film acting for kids and teens. A solid curriculum offers us the freedom to choose the very best, and most contemporary acting techniques from around the world. Whereas kids drama classes in schools are bound by often outmoded or techniques that are not as relevant for kids and teens acting.
Brisbane drama classes run by private Brisbane speech and drama schools often focus on just speech and drama. Again this is very different to our acting classes for kids. Why? Because speech and drama while it can be fun, is highly limited in its scope particularly in its application with acting. We focus on acting for camera and all the skills to perform for current productions including green screen acting which is taking over the film industry. We also cover acting for stage where we focus on the exciting world of devising and collaboration. The students learn the art of story and how to make the story the star while making everyone in the cast look wonderful. Not just one person.
So kids drama classes are very different to acting for stage and screen. Kids drama classes in school can offer only a fraction of the practical and hands on exciting content that each of our acting classes for kids is jam packed with. The wonderful thing is if you do kids drama classes at school, you can easily add our acting classes for kids into your weekly schedule for all the benefits of confidence, communication skills and friendships they each have to offer.
