How to Book Your $1 Trial Class

1. Select your preferred time and location from the below timetable. **If you have 2 or more kids please email us with your preferred class and we will contact you to finalise your enrolment
2. When you click ENROL, be sure to select the "New Students $1 Trial" option under Bundles to lock in your $1 trial class and uniform
3. At the checkout you will be able to select a payment option from a drop down list. Either pay in full, or in two instalments from 11th May. You only pay $1 now.

NOTE: Our term fees aren't charged until 11th May, so you can choose to cancel your payment schedule at any time should you choose not to continue

TERM 2 TAKING CHARACTERS TO CAMERA

When you create a character, you want to be able to make sure you can play it in the most effective way.

This term, we will look at the difference between acting for stage and for screen. For anyone new to creating characters, you will get some quick tips for creating a couple of characters to play with. Then, you will rocket through a series of tips and tricks to help with your character's believability when acting in front of a camera. You will start with small, achievable scripts, that will allow you to progress to bigger scripts as you make them your own. The scripts will be open to your complete interpretation of ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘when’, ‘where’, and ‘why’. You will be directed to create original and impactful performances for camera. Your work will then be uploaded and a link sent to you so you can watch it back at home.

Working in front of a camera can be nerve-wracking at first, but at the Australian Acting Academy, we are experts in making even the most challenging experiences fun. Through freely expressing yourself creatively, you will gain confidence and a sense of achievement that will take your acting to new and exciting places. If you want to see how you would go in front of a camera, learn valuable acting skills, and have fun with like-minded people; all in a safe, supportive, and creative environment, this term is for you!

In The 9 Weeks You Will:

-Learn how to trick us into believing you
- Explore the magic of open scripts
- Uncover the secrets of comedic and dramatic tension in performance
- Experience how to take direction for camera
- Grow in your ability to work in front of a camera
- Explore emotions for acting so that you can use them realistically
- Learn how to "slate" - introduce yourself in front of camera for agents and casting directors
- And so much more!

WHAT TO EXPECT EACH WEEK IN TERM 2

Week 1
Stage Vs Screen

We will take characters developed in Term 1 & use them in some activities for stage AND for camera. For students new to the Academy, we have 2 very quick character building techniques that will see you confidently performing in just 1-2 lessons.

Week 2
Trick Us Into Believing You

Having played on stage and on camera, you will explore the differences between the medium of stage and screen, so you can use your characters in a more believable way.

Week 3
Script Work Is The Way

You will get small open scripts where you get to define the story and set of circumstances for your character. They are the words your characters say, but with no context or given circumstances so you can let your creative brilliance shine.

Week 4
How To Create Dramatic or Comedic Tension

Here, you will learn cutting edge proven techniques that will show you HOW to get the meaning of your script across. These skills will transfer to any script you act with in the future and will be a great tool for your actor's tool kit.

Week 5
Time to Take Direction

You will rehearse your scripts and get directed by our amazing coaches. You will be clear on the story, and your character's journey in it. With your scene partner you will show your best work and get filmed. You will get feedback, and make your acting even better!

Week 6
Take 2

Now it is time for you to change to a new character. Showing the same words but in two completely different worlds. You will see that it isn't the words that give all the meaning. Again, you will get feedback and re-film if needed. .

Week 7
New Challenge - Emotional Challenge

At the AAA, you progress at your own level. For those that are ready, you will get a more challenging script, but for those that want to perfect their level, you can do that too. For those ready to make the audience feel, this challenge is for you.

Week 8
Final Filming

You get to take your higher level script and will be directed. You will be shown how to put your best foot forward and deepen your character delivery skills for camera.

Week 9
Feedback Is The Most Valuable Thing

This week we will watch back your best take and give positive feedback, so you can make it even better. Then we are going to play some games to celebrate the best term ever! We will edit and send the link to you so you can watch it in the comfort of your own home.
