Extension 2 2021

I think In the last two years that I’ve done extension I’ve grown more, not only as an actor, but as a person, than I ever have. I believe extension has made me so much more confident and aware and I’ve learned some life lessons and philosophies that will stick with me until the day I die. It’s such a supportive environment to be able to learn and grow and make mistakes in and the people you come to know, you get so close with. I don’t think, at the beginning of last year, I had expected at all to be going to parties with these people and coordinating pranks and working the way that we all have together. It’s so exciting to see everyone else grow too, to look back and see how much everyone has changed since the first day of the first extension class of the new generation. I think everyone who can should audition for extension. It’s worth it.

Doing Extension from the start of auditioning all the way through to the classes and workshops, is an incredible experience. You will gain a wealth of knowledge in not only acting but in life as well. It's like the regular classes but super charged! And for those who are terrified of the audition process, know that so were we and so will everyone else... and the coaches really try their best at making the audition as chill as possible. Take a risk, it's what Academy kids do best.

Hey my names Grace, I have found extension 2 and 3 to be such an eye opening experience, from the showcase we did in extension 2 in 2019 to our short film in extension 3 in 2020 I’ve gotten a real insight to what the performing arts industry is all about, and I have learnt so much from it. It has helped me to discover who I am as a person and as an actress. Auditioning for extension through the AAA was a nerve racking experience but it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. Looking at where I was before, I have grown so confidently and have become so much more in touch with my creative side. I encourage those who are thinking of auditioning for the AAA extension classes to not be afraid and just go for it, you won’t regret it. The friends I have made and the coaching I have received has helped me see the world in an entirely different way, a way that allows me to embrace the colourful and creative person I’ve become.

Going through the extension program has improved my acting skills beyond what I thought I could achieve in two years. Although it’s challenging I loved it every step of the way and loved all the strong connections I made with others in my class. It has also taught me important things about the industry that were and are so helpful for auditions now and what I aim to achieve in the future. The support from my peers and coaches alike is unlike anything I’ve experienced at school and without it I don’t think I would have come half as far as I have.

Doing extension is one of the best choices I’ve ever made. It’s given me so many skills that I use in acting and everyday life. I’ve also gotten to meet some of the most amazing people that share the same common interest with me. I’ve gained so much confidence and I’ve learnt so much that has made me into the person I am today. If you’re on the fence about auditioning for extension, please just give it a go, you may be surprised where it takes you.
