Each year we polish and perfect our formula to create comedy. This year we have got it almost perfect. SKIDZ 2020 is amazing. 2020 has been a year remembered for many things, but not the laughs it has brought, so it is nice we did our bit to give a few chuckles.
Our Comedy Unit is taught as part of our regular program that means that some of the students are BRAND NEW to the AAA when they do it. When we do comedy, it lets us see just how strong the Safety Net Philosophy is working in the classes. Old and new students come together, and create some amazing comedy moments.
I am often asked why do I insist on a whole term dedicated to comedy. The reason is simple, if you can master comedy, you can master drama. ALSO, creative kids learn best by not always getting it right, and comedy is almost impossible to get right the first time. So it builds creative expansion by its very nature.
Comedy is hard... But Fun...But Scary...But Exhilarating... But...you get the picture. That is why each year we turn up with blank canvases and create the original comedy series SKIDZ. It is tough, fun, rewarding and challenging. We start wondering if we will ever find anything funny, and finish knowing if we could do it again we would make it even funnier. So we can look forward to SKIDZ 2021 being even better.
